The East African Women's League (EAWL) Nanyuki Branch has been the heartbeat of the Nanyuki community since its founding in 1926. Originally established to support settler families, the branch evolved into a multi-racial cornerstone of the district, dedicated to charity, healthcare and community welfare.
A century supporting Nanyuki Cottage Hospital, including opening its 12-bed Geriatric Unit in 1982.
From "Granny" Bastard teaching early residents bush survival to Marjorie Paterson championing multi-racial unity post-independence, built on remarkable women.
